My Maya Theory:

I believe that the main cause of the fall of the Maya Empire was anemia, and bad nutrition. I think what happened was anemia started to spread around, and killed many of the people. Then, after that, once the crops started to produce lesser and lesser, people couldn't get enough to eat, starving themselves. I think they were over-farming the lands and ruined the crop land. On the website we were shown, it stated that over 80% of the skeletons found at Copán show evidence of anemia. It also states that the modern day farmers living there are getting less corn from their crops each year. This is the main evidence for my reasoning.

Damage from erosion This image shows debris from erosion. The probable cause of this erosion was from people over-farming the lands.
